DanC: the good news is that this might be a critical mass of data to start the monkey-see-monkey-do effect that would cause folks like my kids' soccer teams to export their schedules in a format my machine can understand
DanC: the bad news is: we've got almost all the details of doing this in RDF (or at least XML) worked out, but we didn't tell them.
DanC: hmm... any thoughts on how to motivate apple to support an RDF version of ical?
